For the first time, Pantone has selected two colors to reign as color of the year for 2016. This annual selection is an effort to pinpoint cultural trends and attitude. The combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity were chosen for a, “soothing sense of order and peace,” Pantone explained. Serenity was defined as, “weightless and airy...bringing feelings of respite and relaxation.” Similarly, Rose Quartz was called, “a gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.”

Pantone explained the 2016 color trend as the result of a growing communal desire for security in our rapidly changing world.

Avery Dennison can provide print service providers and graphic design professionals the materials to incorporate Rose Quartz or Serenity in wraps and graphics projects so they’re on trend this year.

Avery Dennison offers a comprehensive selection of vinyl films that come in a wide variety of opaque colors and finishes similar to Rose Quartz or Serenity. As installers are inspired by 2016’s tranquil blue and warm rose tone, Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping™ Films are on-hand to transform ideas into reality when it comes to vehicle color change. Colors such as Matte Metallic Pink, Bubblegum Pink Satin, Matte Metallic Powder Blue and Matte Metallic Frosty Blue closely resemble the 2016 Pantone color. Supreme Wrapping Films are a dual-layer wrap film that incorporate color and clear protective layers to provide a smooth, attention grabbing finish.

Avery Dennison also offers custom color matching to Pantone codes or color samples for orders of 500 yards or more. This quick, easy and reliable process supports a wide range of customers and business needs - from car wraps to architectural and interior graphics.

By using ICC profiles, graphics professionals can color match and digitally print the Pantone colors of 2016 on a wide variety of Avery Dennison premium and promotional cast and calendered films.

Additionally, the combination of Avery Dennison Sparkle DOL 6040 with a digitally printed graphic or layered on an opaque film will create a luminescent quality and bright finish. DOL 6040 is a high gloss digital overlaminate with a metallic finish that adds shimmer and shine. Cast and calendered overlaminates are also available in Luster and Matte, allowing customers to personalize the vinyl’s finish. The combination of digitally printed ICC profiles with an Avery Dennison overlaminate can add an extra dimension to graphics.

There are a variety of vinyl solutions available to match these colors or create similar shades for colorful graphics that are easy to apply and will keep your 2016 graphics projects on trend. We invite you to use Avery Dennison digital and opaque films to incorporate the Pantone 2016 Colors of the Year on your next project.
